AI and the Future of ThinkingThis interdisciplinary course explores the impact of AI on human thought, including critical thinking and creativity, through a diverse set of lenses and perspectives drawn from philosophy, psychology, data science, religion, and management decision sciences.
Students will deepen their understanding of AI so they can use and apply AI in their field of interest with greater skillfulness and with deeper awareness of impacts. This course also helps students contribute to strategic conversations inside organizations about how and where to implement AI models.
We will address several related topics including: the nature of knowing; the relationship between human intelligence and AI and AGI; the role of AI in critical thinking and creativity; cognitive distortions of AI; effects of anthropomorphism of AI.
In addition to readings and presentations of theory, this course is designed to be highly interactive, including substantial class discussion and with “lab” exercises and experiments.
