This training focuses on Assessment Centers (AC) and aims to equip you with essential knowledge, enhance your soft skills through real AC tasks, and provide individual feedback along with practical tips and tricks. The goal is to better prepare you for the job market and ultimately improve your chances of securing your desired position.

Participants will need to have an enthusiasm to learn alternative cameraless photography techniques and print making, but do not need any prior experience or knowledge of photography. This is a fun, hands on, creative workshop for those who wish to try their hand at print making using cameraless photographic techniques. The goal is to create a small set of cyanotype and cyanolumen prints to take home with you. This is a hands on learning experience discovering the beauty of this print process. You will learn about the history of cyanotype, the chemical process and safe use of chemicals, paper coating for printing and working out developing times. You will also develop critical thinking skills, spatial-cognitive awareness and problem solving techniques: All of which are eminently transferrable to other fields of academia and the workplace

Dieses zweitägige Online-Seminar richtet sich an B2-Englischlerner, die ihre beruflichen und akademischen Kommunikationsfähigkeiten verbessern möchten. Themen sind Personal SWOT Analysis, Strategic Networking, Intercultural Communication und Presentation Skills – alles praxisnah! Day 1: Selbstreflexion mit SWOT-Analyse, Networking-Techniken für Karrierechancen und interkulturelle Kommunikation mit Fokus auf Irland. Day 2: Präsentationstraining mit zwei Praxisrunden und Feedback, um den eigenen Auftritt zu optimieren. Teilnehmende erkunden ihre Stärken, Karriereziele und Strategien, um diese zu erreichen. Die Teilnahme an beiden Tagen wird mit 0,5 ECTS belohnt.

HAW-Kiel, CAU Kiel and Stellenbosch University (SUN) are conducting joint research in the field of biosensors. The current state of the art will be presented in a lecture. There will be plenty of time for discussion afterwards. In the past, there have also been various mobilities in both directions. This is particularly feasible as SUN is a partner university of HAW-Kiel.

Besichtigung von Schiffen und Offshore-Anlagen in der Fertigungsphase

Im Rahmen der zweitägigen Exkursion nach Esbjerg in Dänemark wird der Bau eines Schiffes in einer Werft besichtigt. Des Weiteren wird der Hafen besucht, wo Konstruktionen für die Offshore-Industrie verladen werden. Am zweiten Tag findet ein Rundgang durch das Offshore-Museum statt. Die Übernachtung findet in einem Hotel oder in einer Jugendherberge statt. Für die Reise- und Übernachtungskosten ist ein Eigenanteil von ca. 50 Euro erforderlich und vor der Exkursion zu bezahlen.

Linking attitudes and values to sustainable behaviour

Why do some people behave in a more sustainable manner than others? Are wealth levels or infrastructure availability, e.g. good bicycle paths, always the root cause? Or are there some deeper underlying attitudes and values concerning sustainable behaviour that lie at the base and may be subconsciously directing our biases towards the topic of sustainability. This short lecture seeks to address these questions by exploring several potential origins of sustainable behaviour. It is part of an ongoing study that analyses how shifts in attitudes and values shape our sustainable behaviour and perception by correlating datasets from two large international organizations: The Environmental Performance Index and the IMD’s World Competitiveness Yearbook.

Möchtet ihr einen Kurz-Auslandsaufenthalte in der für deutsche Industrieunternehmen immer interessanter werdenden ASEAN-Region machen? Die HAW Kiel bietet für Bachelor- und Masterstudierende des Fachbereichs Maschinenwesen an, ihre Studienarbeiten zu einem Teil vor Ort an der Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) im Rahmen einer zweiwöchigen Research School in den IDWs im Herbst 2026 durchzuführen! Dadurch könnt‘ ihr ein Pflichtmodul mit Betreuung durch Professoren der HAW Kiel ohne Studienzeitverlängerung ableisten. Das ist insbesondere interessant für Euch, solltet ihr Bachelorstudierende der siebensemestrigen Studiengänge sein. Außerdem kann das Euer Startpunkt für einen längeren Auslandsaufenthalt im darauffolgenden „Mobilitätssemester“ sein.
